The aim of this site is to present ideas forming an understanding of the processes of evolution based on a viewpoint that is seen to differ from the normal more analytical, scientific or faith based viewpoints as used to derive the currently accepted approaches to understanding evolution.

A basic tenet of the site's philosophy is that true learning and understanding is best achieved when it is realised that all viewpoints incorporate elements of truth and that, at our present stage of evolution, all also share a fundamental flaw, namely that the probability of any of them individually being absolutely right in the conclusions to which they give rise is potentially zero; it follows that by bringing together the existing viewpoints, exploring new ones and combining the results there is a better chance of expanding our understanding of truth, of expanding the truth content of the Collective Mind. This latter statement arises out of the realisation that our exposure to the totality of truth is both miniscule and never direct, being always subject to the representational nature of our experience and the interpretation that our mental activities place upon that representational experience.

It must be clearly understood from the start that the content of the site is a product of thought, thought arising out of exposure to existence and as such a product of the Phenomenal Universe (more of that later!!). The ideas discussed are presented as though factual but only from the viewpoint from which they are approached. This is true of conclusions drawn from any viewpoint and the degree to which anything is actually factual can only be judged in the course of evolution as the degree of truth contained in the knowledge base from which facts are derived is expanded. For the site, the justification for presenting things factually is that the evolved process of thought underlying the conclusions drawn seems to make logical sense. It is fully appreciated that the ideas only contain, at the most, small elements of the totality of the truth that underlies existence, however, it is the contention that by structurally gathering the ideas together they form a common, justifiable basis on which discussion can continue and true knowledge expanded.

The 1PlusInfinity Website is about evolution and its significance. It is about evolution as a process fundamental to existence and at the same time totally dependant on that existence. A process of continual change in which there is a mutual interdependence between the components in existence and the environment their existence creates - their Condition of Existence, as it exists in the present.

Evolution is a constant flow of change brought about by instability within the Condition of Existence which causes continual modification of that condition. This process of continual modification results in the coming into existence of constantly new unique products, whose structural composition and significance within the new resultant Condition of Existence is subtly different and always unique when compared with that of prior states of Condition of Existence. These subtle differences build on what has preceded them during the continual process of change that takes place as existence continues to flow in the present (in human ‘phenomenal’ terms as existence advances into the future) and as a result new, previously impossible, components come into existence, some old ones become no longer recognisable or even sustainable and the general process of evolution ensures the gradual introduction of previously unimaginable forms of existence. The process is one of continuous and inevitable change based around uniqueness and, with the evolution of the Phenomenal Universe, is one that has increasing but fragile potential to influence from within its own future course; something that we are only just beginning to understand. It is hoped that this website will contribute to that understanding.

The components of a Condition of Existence exist because they must exist within that condition; the stability of their existence is dependant on the degree of tolerance they have to the continuous modifications that occur within the flow of existence.

The process of Evolution is applicable to everything and anything that has existed, exists or may exist and, while the process may vary considerably in its complexity, it remains applicable with respect to the simplest right through to the most complex of systems; from the design of an axe head to the creation of the universe, from the management of the corner shop to the operation of the United Nations.

Evolution has itself evolved and there are identifiable stages in the process - formation of the elements, chemical reactions, creation of life forms and, so far perhaps the most intriguing and for thinking beings the most significant, the development of sensory systems and subsequently the thinking brain, to identify a few. The evolution of the brain has introduced into the Condition of Existence the Phenomenal Universe, a universe in which the probability of error is inherent but whose influence on the Physical Universe is nevertheless growing at an exponential rate, albeit, so far as we are aware, only in a very limited volume of that universe, our planet earth.

This site aims to present a reasoned approach to an understanding of existence and to be a forum for discussion on the scenarios presented. It is fully appreciated that things are open to be understood ‘wrongly’ indeed, as will be discussed, the nature of uniqueness makes it more probable that most things are understood in ways that are certainly not right. The site is intended to evolve - hopefully not to its own extinction.
