The Fundamentals
The 1PlusInfinity website is based predominately on thinking, as opposed to scientific investigation and analysis, for the presentation of the views and ideas expressed. While my scientific knowledge is undoubtedly limited, the aim has been to incorporate the basics of current scientific knowledge into the thought processes involved and in many respects the outcome is believed to be a level of understanding that makes better sense of many the processes of evolution than derives from current generally accepted understandings of the subject.
It is fully accepted that there is a vast wealth of excellent and highly detailed scientific knowledge currently available and the site makes no pretence of having applied more than a tiny smattering of the of that knowledge base in arriving at its ideas. The site only seeks to present a generalised understanding of the evolution of existence for the purpose of expanding the level of truth in the Collective Mind. The ideas and conclusions that are drawn in arriving at that understanding do not have to be right to achieve this objective. As will be appreciated after reading the some of the articles presented, it is fully recognised that at our present stage of evolution the probability of any product of the Phenomenal Universe, that is the universe of the mind, being completely or even significantly right is extremely low.
People tend to argue because their exposure to viewpoints has led to variations in the understanding they have of situations, subjects; all, from their own perspectives, will think they are right; it is highly improbable that any will be right; all will have varying degrees of truth inherent in their understandings, all should work towards cooperation to unite their viewpoints and develop their combined understanding, as capture in the Collective Mind, in the search for greater truth: but, at the same time, it must be recognised that truth, as a dimension, may vary across Space-Time and that’s a problem!!
As already stated the objective must ultimately be the development of the Collective Mind, as an evolutionary product of the Phenomenal Universe in a way that achieves maximisation of truth for its content. It is the Collective Mind and the validity of its content as evolved through the process of testing the products of the Phenomenal Universe in the Physical Universe and the learning that is forthcoming from that process that will dictate whether the future course of evolution is compatible to our continued existence.
The site-specific thinking, but not necessarily that of registered contributors, presented on this website derives from the following fundamental tenets. These may be modified as understanding advances. Some of the statements will be highly contentious but it is hoped that any such contention will not put readers off reading subsequent statements; this site is aimed at promoting discussion, and increasing the number of points of view that comprise the knowledge base on which we base understanding and it is strongly advocated that a knowledge of what is wrong / false is as important as knowledge of truth in aiming for true understanding. It is possible to understand things wrongly and because understanding is a component of the Phenomenal World it is almost inevitable that all understanding is, only ever, right to a degree; an understanding of this is important in our dealings with others, it means that respect and humility should always be present!
The current tenets forming the basis for the 1PlusInfinity Website specific presentations are as follows: -
§ Nothing exists in the Past but it did exist, nothing exists in the Future but it will exist and everything exists in the present.
§ The nature of all of existence is one of Evolution and is subject to Condition of Existence.
§ Condition of Existence is subject to everything that exists
§ The components of all existence have the potential to mutually interact within Space during the progress of Time
§ Both Space and Time are absolutes[1].
§ The Physical world ‘exists’ and evolves in Space-Time in the ‘direction’ dictated by the prevailing Condition of Existence.
§ Condition of Existence dictates that all of Existence is in a constant flow of change and that the occupancy of Space-Time throughout Space is always unique.
§ Uniqueness in terms of Condition of Existence means that it applies throughout Time and Space, by this is meant that all aspects of Existence remain unique in the Past, Present and Future.
§ Everything that exists now is the product of past products resultant from previous states of the Condition of Existence.
§ Because a new product of evolution will modify the Condition of Existence no subsequent product will ever be exactly the same as its predecessor.
§ Because all products must of necessity be created at a new stage / position in the flow of Space-Time no product will ever be formed under exactly the same Condition of Existence.
§ Since no products of evolution are identical, they cannot be by definition, the process of evolution will vary continuously and throughout the existing realm of evolution.
§ The realm of evolution exists as a state of evolution that progressively becomes more complex with its advance into the future but it exists only in the present and must exist only in the present throughout its realm.
§ The present must exist universally and its advance ‘towards’ the future must occur constantly throughout the realm of evolution.
§ Light as a product of evolution can only travel in the present.
§ Every position in the realm of evolution, its Space-Time occupancy, is a source of a new evolutionary process that for the fermion based products of evolution, its matter, can only result in its remaining in the space occupied or in its movement out of that space in a single direction within the flow of time. The process of evolution is one of infinite potential.
§ The dependence of Evolution on the Condition of Existence does not relate to Determinism in anyway; while study of the past will clearly, at least potentially, identify a specific path of events that lead to the present, the interaction of everything throughout Space and in the present is chaotic and the Future is NOT predictable with a probability of one.
§ The processes of Darwinian Natural Selection and Modification through Decent are not in themselves the same as the process of Evolution. They are very real and significant components of the evolutionary process but they are nothing more than that in the overall complexity of the process of Evolution as defined by Condition of Existence.
§ Evolution is not objective. The process has no purpose or plan; it progresses within the Physical Universe in accordance with the currently prevailing unique Condition of Existence flowing throughout Space-Time. However, implementation in the Physical Universe of ideas created in the Phenomenal Universe does have the effect of modifying the Condition of Existence in ways that may become progressively more akin to directing the course of that evolution.
§ Evolution, as a result of the inherent continual change prevailing in the Condition of Existence throughout Space-Time – the flow of existence -, is unavoidable and is to be found in everything from the simplest to the most complex, in the Physical Universe and the Phenomenal Universe.
§ Evolution of physical products within the Physical Universe is never as a result of error, mistake or failure to respond to the specifics of the prevailing Condition of Existence nor is it ever accidental.
§ The Phenomenal Universe is defined as the totality of the outputs and contents of the minds of thinking-beings, ideas and thoughts. Thinking-beings are defined as that set of life forms in which the evolutionary development of the sensory systems has caused the development of a nervous system at the centre of which is the organ, identified as the brain, capable of sensing and modifying its own state on an continual basis.
§ Because of the uniqueness existing throughout Space-Time each thinking-being is itself unique and its state of awareness will have evolved under a unique set of exposures, none of which will ever have allowed it exposure to the totality of ‘knowledge’ available in Space-Time. This means that the probability of its own sensory awareness of the existing, present, state of its brain - as created by past sensory stimulation, both internal and external - will never be anything other than ‘lacking in total truth’. In other words Error is inherent in the Phenomenal World.
§ Evolution within the Phenomenal Universe is uniquely variable throughout, with the result that thinking-beings, while exposed during life to similar – never the same - conditions of existence, can develop similar beliefs but will never agree on all matters. They will always have different Points of View as a result of necessarily having always been exposed to the stimulation resulting from different Points Viewed.
§ The interaction that exists between the Phenomenal Universe and the Physical Universe is ultimately solely dependant on the Condition of Existence in the Physical Universe. The condition may be influenced by the actions brought about by the thinking of the thinking-beings within the Phenomenal Universe but the results in the Physical Universe, unlike the thinking in the Phenomenal Universe, cannot be wrong and are inevitable.
§ The development of the Phenomenal Universe and the products of the thinking that are the result of self sensing and modification taking place in the brains of thinking-beings is, of course, nothing more that another stage in the evolutionary process. The development of ideas and thoughts is itself evolutionary and is termed Memetic Evolution[2], it is effectively a sub-set of Phenomenal Evolution; it is a highly significant stage. This significance revolves around the impact that actions taking place in the Physical Universe as a result of Memetic activity in the Phenomenal Universe, with its inevitably the high probability for associated error, will have on the prevailing Condition of Existence in the Physical Universe and hence on the directions taken by evolution, albeit in what is assumed to be the very minute volume of Space occupied by thinking-beings.
§ There exist bands of variance within the Condition of Existence in which there is a degree of stability that supports the existence of its components; this applies particularly in respect to life forms, where tolerance to change can be very limited, but is true of all components of existence.
§ There is an infinitely complex mutual interdependence between the components of Condition of Existence and the state of that existence; that is to say that there is an endless loop of condition effecting component effecting condition. The speed of evolution, its rate of change, the speed of effect, relates to the speed of the fastest moving component of that the condition of existence. The result is that, while time remains a ‘constant’ the rate of evolution has the potential to change across Space in accordance with Condition of Existence
§ While the nature of existence is one related to a moving condition of an Absolute (an absolute that exists in the present but changes with time); separation within Space, which may be empty, permits the evolution of separate, independent, individual systems. The expansion or regression of these systems will cause varying degrees of influence on neighbouring systems; the degree of influence conceivably ranging from nothing up. Interaction as a result of evolution of systems can be seen as introducing degrees of uncertainty, randomness into the overall process of evolution a key aspect of the non-deterministic nature of evolution in the present (as applied to time).
§ The use of mathematical / statistical terms in relation to existence and the process of evolution are both inappropriate and confusing. There is no probability associated with existence within the Physical Universe; concepts, such as the chance creation of Boeing 707s, are in reality naïve. The ‘anthropic principle’, perhaps, comes closest to understanding that probability is a misnomer in the context of evolution of the universe but is itself confusing in that it specifically (anthropic) relates to human existence, whereas it would better relate to existence, human or not: the ‘Existence Principle’. Probability implies options, the Physical Universe, existing, as it does, only in its present, as in the present, occupancy of Space, while it is the product of the chaotic state of the prevailing Condition of Existence, is specifically the result of unique mutual interactions between the components of that Existence dependant on what is possible and not what is probable. In other worlds and in terms used by humans, in accordance with the ‘laws of physics’ or ‘laws of the universe’; recognising, of course that in the Physical Universe no such laws exists; they are the creation of that error prone product of evolution, the Phenomenal Universe!
§ Whatever the process of evolution may produce as products and whatever the interaction of those products may themselves produce, the changes taking place are ultimately dependant on the fundamental components of which the products are composed – in human terms the sub-atomic particles. The process of evolution and its many historically identifiable phases point to the fact that, while there is a historical dependence of present stages on past stages, there is also a subsequent effect on ‘past’ stages by existing stages. This is perhaps better understood when it is realised that the development of new stages of evolution does not destroy previous stages; what it does, through Condition of Existence, is to alter the condition under which the previous stages exist. Thus it follows that all stages of evolution, no matter how fundamental, themselves continue to evolve under the umbrella of continuing modification to the prevailing Condition of Existence. This is highly significant as it has a significant impact on what we understand by the concepts of Truth and law as applied to the Physical Universe, in particular, but also in relation to the Phenomenal Universe – both are themselves the products of evolution and as such are not fixed items, not ‘set in stone’ (even that expression becomes meaningless in this context!!). They might be described as having dimensions that are linked to the dimension of Time. In fact it is proposed that Truth is a dimension dependant on the prevailing Condition of Existence – note that Law is not included in this latter statement; this is because it is in fact felt to be integral within the concept of truth. There is a revealing aspect to the concept of truth as a dimension and it is that, because occupancy of Space-Time is unique, Truth effectively varies across Space-Time i.e. not only does it vary with position in Time, but also with position in Space – this is what evolution is about and the concept of infinity of infinities really starts to come into its own at this stage!!
§ Life, based as it is on the ability of forms to reproduce in a relatively consistent manner, due to bands of tolerance, is not a product of genetic coding. Genetic coding is a confusing term that has become readily adopted for its supposed similarity to computer programming codes that achieve their intended results via a sequence of instructions that are interpreted by a processor that uses them to, in turn, to initiate instructions; the process is deterministic and is therefore inappropriate for metaphorical use in understanding life. Life is the current stage of an evolutionary process that has gradually turned simple base units of construction, the elements or at a more fundamentally level sub-atomic particles, into the complex sequence of biochemical molecules that, through no process of design, have reached a stage in their coexistence that is capable of producing life. The sequence of chemicals that form the genes and the associated chains of chromosomes are simply the products of evolution that produce the evolutionary products capable of reproducing themselves in a way that, for the general state of the prevailing Condition of Existence, is relatively stable. Those sequences of chemical products are the only products possible under the Condition of Existence prevailing during the evolutionary stages of their formation. Their combined appearance to the observer, from his viewpoint, as the initiators of instructions directing the course of the ontogenic development of the life form to which they relate is deceptive. In reality evolution is taking place in the form of sequential chemical reactions the result of which progressively modify the Condition of Existence which allows the development of the next stage of the reaction process to proceed and for the life form to develop, function, mature and subsequently die. All without any coding or instruction; it just has to happen as a process of evolution in the Physical Universe.
