'Why the Mind is Not a COMPUTER A pocket lexicon of neuromythology' is a good and important little book and is well worth a read, the section on Information (Knowledge) is of particular interest but singling it out is perhaps unfair as all the sections are rewarding and significant. That is not to say that I am entirely in agreement with all of Tallis's contentions, I am not. I feel that he underestimates the importance of wholeness in the processes described so that while it is potentially very misleading to make too much simplified metaphorical comparison with scientific creations there is some justification. What he is right about is that the scientifically analytical nature of the metaphorical comparison results in far too narrow a view of the subject under examination which potentially promotes an entirely distorted view of the reality.
